Alicia’s Kids Zone

Nutritious, Easy-to-Prepare Meals During School Breaks

Alicia’s Kids Zone is committed to making sure students have access to healthy, easy-to-prepare meals during academic recess periods—such as holiday breaks, teacher workdays, and other times when school meals are unavailable. Since many children rely on school for the majority of their daily nutrition, this program helps fill the gap when schools are closed.

Open to all students in the Clayton County School System, the program is made possible through strong community partnerships. Community Outreach in Action works closely with schools throughout the county to serve families facing food insecurity.

No appointment is necessary—we freely serve any child in need. Before each scheduled school break, volunteers prepare food bags that include multiple days’ worth of meals: breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks such as fresh produce. Bags are distributed directly to families with care and confidentiality.

Enrollment is open year-round, and services continue during summer through partnerships with local youth programs. We strive to offer a rotating menu of culturally inclusive, nutritious foods, and we can accommodate food allergies and dietary needs as needed.

Toys For Tots

Seeing gifts under the tree means the world to a child.

Sadly, not every child is that fortunate.

Each holiday season, Community Outreach in Action partners with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program to deliver toys and holiday joy to children who might otherwise go without. This heartfelt collaboration ensures families in need receive gifts, clothing, and a powerful reminder that our community cares deeply. Because every child deserves to wake up to a sense of wonder and belonging.

Together, we make the season brighter—one gift at a time.
